Location based is certainly a driver and everyone is talking about it -but the real evolution will be presence-based social networking moving beyond just mapping events and places, but connecting relationships both on line and offline. And all of this will eventually happen on the mobile … but for now we have make presence a foundation for how we connect with those in our social networks.

Your trends predictions is as if you are preaching to the choir. Even our company changed its tagline a while back to “The Phone Reborn”. We at http://www.aradiom.com share the same convictions as you both that the very nature of the phone as a talking device will undergo drastic changes and our locative patterns and behaviors will change once we mash-up data with
location information. There will be a whole new realm to geo-tagging when it comes to social media, but also to other services. In fact, the phone will replace many hardware devices for both individual but also enterprise applications.
