Where’s the Buzz: Sex Whips Indiana Jones

June 10th, 2008 by

Sex seems definitely in the city, in the blogs & and in facebook.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) continues to narrate her own story about sex, love and the fashion-obsessed single woman in New York City in “Sex & the City”,  released last week by Warner Brothers. The movie almost unexpectedly catapulted Speilberg’s “Indiana Jones” released on May 22.

Indiana Jones hit Facebook with a vengeance, distributed 250K virtual fedoras including “Where I’ve Been,” Flixster and SuperPoke.

However “Sex in the City” fans (109,216) outnumbers “Indiana Jones” fans (75,165). Around 27K are daily checking out Facebook Quiz “Which Sex & The City Character Are You?”. Over and above they are arranging offline parties as well.

Why not when 2/3 of Facebook users are in fact female. Fans reviewed the movie there:

“Omg this is such a girly film I loved it reminded me so much off me and my girls”

“OMG – what a fabulous Film. I saw it this afternoon at 4:15pm – the Cinema was 2/3 full. 50+ women – just 3 or 4 men. Lots of tears! It was great. Love love love it. I want to see it again.”

“I went and saw it today, and I loved it! I cried, laughed then cried again, and then wanted to stay for the next session! I will definitely be hoping it comes out on DVD before Xmas….so I can ask Santa for it!”

Blogpulse snapshot shows “Indiana Jones” peaking up during its release in may subsequently giving way to “sex and the city” in early June.
