Crimes and forgiveness in web 2.0

January 19th, 2007 by

I searched www.i4giveu.com a web 2.0 confession site to find what are the most popular “crimes” web 2.0 users come to confess about. The 8 main issues were found to be:

1. Making someone Uncomfortable

2. Abuse

3. Hate

4. Anger

5. Lie

6. Stupidity

7. Love

8. Sex

The user’s confession found to receive the highest votes were:

1. I hate Israel” confession received 242 votes from which 21% of the users “judging this crime” thought this confession deserves forgiveness

2. Killed a Chicken” confession received 207 votes from which 40% of the “judgers” thought it deserves forgiveness

3. Illegal software” confession  received 120 votes from which 77% of the “judgers” thought it deserves forgiveness

In hope for a better world, I wish that as more users will participate at www.i4giveu.com – the crime rate of “abuse” or “hate” will diminish.

Amazing!!! in the first row u can find both the hate of Israel/Jews and committing a crime of “Illegal software”…….
Well, I wonder if it really reflects the “real world” or is limited to some web 2.0 freaks that has alot of free time….

The web 2.0 phenomenon provides all a place for expressing and sharing thoughts, opinions, feelings etc. but how much are all these comments and posts serious and profound?? Are people posting their “real” thoughts and not just trying to amuse themselves by posting provocative posts and comments????

I guess there is not one answer to that but with a blog like this one (Trendsspotting) and with a writter like Taly Weiss I hope and am sure that with time it would get more and more clear…

Good luck and keep on making us (at least me) think more about the cyber world and the “real” world we are living in.

Im the owner of i4giveu.com, I can certainly tell you that it doesn’t reflect the web2.0 ‘fanatics’ only, because of the easy to use confession posting method alot of none technical people confessed without having to be in the niche of web 2.0, its a really interesting social experiment if you investigate it more. i will be meeting with taly to further discuss this and i’ll probably post about it on my blog http://www.sickofmusic.com
