Internet trends: marketing research & predictions

We are back!

October 27th, 2007 by

For more than 3 days TrendssSpotting was in a real life risk. Our entire database was mistakenly erased. We learned that our hosting (ironically named hosting4life), even though promising daily back ups, was not able to provide us any of our files. We have requested to retrieve our database in endless chats, and endless “no answer” calls. We spent about 60 hours trying to get the attention of the technical support. It didn’t take us long to understand that the service providers have no technical knowledge. Those who did promise help, were switching shifts and we had to start the discussion over and over again.

I have never encountered a service as this one. Almost one year of work disappeared in a flash.

Lucky us, we have gathered all our files, one by one, still appearing all over the web!

TrendsSpotting dedicated team, Nizan Malkit and Aviv Sher, were able to trace our entire work through Google, Yahoo!, and Waybackmachine files. We have succeeded retrieving posts, links, and most important – all the wise comments you readers were contributing to the discussion.

Nizan and Aviv cleverly returned each post to wordpress under the original page number (a mission that required calculating every picture you upload into the system).

Would you believe that?

We have sure learned an important lesson.

But – out of need to let out some of our disappointment from services you encounter when hosting your websites, I couldn’t help my self and opened a Facebook group: Hostings are real bad hosters.

I want to thank you for sticking with us and send big thank you hug to my partners – Nizan and Aviv.

Next trends coming up soon!

Taly.

Good blog! I really love how it’s easy on my eyes as well as the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which should do the trick! Have a nice day!
